‘Shuddersome: Tales of Poe’ opens Nov. 6

PRESS PHOTOS BY LOU WHEELANDUnder the direction of Sydney Sniezek, Orefield Middle School theater director, young actors will present the play, “Shuddersome: Tales of Poe” 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7. Of course, the play channels the writings of 19th century American poet Edgar Allan Poe. “It includes specific tales like Prince Prospero and The Red Death from ‘The Masque of the Red Death,’ the unnamed narrator and the old man from ‘The Tell-Tale Heart,’ the speaker and the raven from ‘The Raven’ and a painter and the Countess from ‘The Oval Portrait,’” according to Theatrefolk, the Drama Teacher Resource Company.Sniezek’s actors held a dress rehearsal Nov. 1 in the Orefield Middle School auditorium, 2675 Route 309, Orefield, allowing for a perfect opportunity to photograph the players in costume.
