Celebrating 125 years of service to the community, the Allentown Rescue Mission is excited to announce its annual Thanks for Giving Food and Supplies Drive, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8,
The event collects non-perishable food items and supplies to benefit the nearly 1,000 men in crisis who stay at the Mission throughout the year by restocking its pantry shelves and donating food for holiday meals.
Josh Early Candies will partner with the Allentown Rescue Mission again for this one-day, drive-thru drop-off event at both Josh Early Candies locations in Allentown and Bethlehem.
Boxing legend and Lehigh Valley native, Larry Holmes, will be on-site at Josh Early Candies, Allentown, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., along with IHeartRadio personality, Mike Mittman, who will broadcast from the event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Both men will be available to meet and have photos taken with donors.
Cumulus Radio personalities will be at the Bethlehem location.
Additionally, the Mission will host a Meal Match Challenge as part of its Food and Supplies Drive to raise funds for nutritious, perishable foods, including fruits, vegetables and dairy products.
Thanks to a generous group of donors, all dollars donated to the Challenge until Nov. 30 will have double the impact.
To participate in the Meal Match Challenge, contact Marlena at 610-740-5500, ext. 325.
