David Joseph Castaldi, 80, of Slatington, formerly of Commack, Long Island, N.Y., died, Nov. 2, 2025, at Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli. He was the husband of Sandra (Harabes) Castaldi to whom he was married 53 years. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Barbara W. (Beers) Castaldi.
He earned a Master of Arts degree from New York Institute of Technology. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He was employed as a print production manager retiring from Barron’s Educational Series and before that, Continental Insurance Company.
He was an avid collector of model trains and was a member of the Train Collectors Association. He was also a devoted New York Mets fan. He was the proud owner of a classic 1971 Camaro RS.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael J. and his wife, Jessica, of Emmaus and Phillip J. at home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Gordon A. Camp officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 1-2 p.m. before the service.
