Boy Scouts plan annual Sheeprock Trek Nov. 27

Grace Lutheran Church will offer its free community meal 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the fellowship hall. Take-out meals are also available. Call the church office at 610-966-3325 for the menu.

Grace Lutheran Church has changed its free food distribution to 2-4 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays in November – Nov. 12 and 26 for East Penn School District residents. Signs will be posted with directions for parking and pickup.

There will be a Welcome Fall Vendor & Craft Fair 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at Macungie Memorial Park.

Lower Lehigh AARP will meet noon Nov. 6 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park. Dues for 2026 will be collected; bring both cards. The meeting for Dec. 4 will be a potluck lunch. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Dot at 610-967-3284.

There will be a Shop Small Holiday Craft Fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15 in Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Park.

There will be a Mandee’s Lunchbox Gift Card Bingo 1 p.m. Nov. 16 in Macungie Memorial Hall. Doors open noon. Food, drink and baked goods also available. Tickets are available at mandeeslunchbox.com.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting is 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall.

There will be a Holiday Kick Off Craft and Vendor Show 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 22 at Macungie Memorial Park Hall.

Concordia Lutheran Church will hold a Thanksgiving Eve service 7 p.m. Nov. 26 with a pie festival immediately following.

The 97th annual Sheeprock Trek and Thanksgiving Sunrise Service will leave promptly 5:45 a.m. Nov. 27 (yes, Thanksgiving morning) from the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department, 31 S. Walnut St. Macungie Boy Scout Troop 71 will light the way up Macungie Mountain where there will be a brief Thanksgiving sunrise service. The event is coordinated by the Macungie Historical Society. Hikers should be prepared with flashlights, gloves and hiking boots. In the event of inclement weather, the sunrise service will be held at the Macungie Volunteer Fire Department starting 5:45 a.m. For more information, call the Macungie Historical Society at 610-965-0372.

The Macungie Christmas tree lighting will take place 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Macungie Flower Park by the railroad tracks. There will be a sing-along, hot cocoa and cookies and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, Snow Bunny and Jasper the Bear.

There will be a Horlacher Chapter Penguin Frolic Brewery Collectibles Show 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 6 at Macungie Park Memorial Hall.

The Macungie Institute offers free weekly Pinochle and Mahjong Wednesdays. Pinochle is 10 a.m. to noon and Mahjong is 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Zumba with Rashida is offered 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and 2-3 p.m. Tuesdays. For more information, go to www.macungieinstitute.com.

Macungie Borough Council has in-person public meetings at the Macungie Institute. The next meetings will be 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and Dec. 1.
