Letter to the editor: Disappointed in Mako’s votes

To the Editor:

I was disappointed, saddened and angry that our state Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, voted against legislation that would have stopped needless gun deaths in Pennsylvania. Some bills were narrowly defeated.

His “no” votes on Universal Background Checks (HB 1593), Extreme Risk Protection Orders (HB 1859) and a Ban on Machine Gun Conversion Devices (HB 1866) were votes for more suicides by firearm, more plastic guns in our schools and more police officers in mortal danger at the scene of domestic violence calls.

Voting “no” made our homes, our schools, our communities more dangerous.

Hope he does better, is courageous and stops putting gun industry profits ahead of our lives and safety and that he takes action to end the gun violence epidemic in Pennsylvania.
