former Mack Trucks worker

Carl M. Podlesny, 82, of Whitehall, died Oct. 26, 2025. He was born in Hazleton to the late Carl L. and Ann (Kovalick) Podlesny.

After graduating from Hazleton High School in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve.

He briefly worked at Western Electric before going to work at Mack Trucks for 33 years.

He was an avid fisherman who loved to fish up in Thousand Islands and Canada with his lifelong friends. He did volunteer work with The American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. (Pavlick); daughters, Mary Lynn Ghizzone (Robert), of Delray Beach, Fla., Michele Diefenbach, of Alburtis; grandchildren, Michael C. Boyko, of Whitehall, Nicole S. Dugan (Shayne), of Fort Myers, Fla., Hailey C. Diefenbach, of Alburtis; great-granddaughters, Finley and Kyleigh Dugan, of Fort Myers, Fla.; nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Jeffrey S. Diefenbach.
