Veterans Day Mass Nov. 11
Allentown Central Catholic High School has been buzzing with activity lately!
A huge thank-you to guest speaker Steve Javie and everyone who joined us in listening to his inspirational presentation at our ACCHS Networking Breakfast Series Oct. 23.
On Oct. 24, our Viking family came together to pray the Living Rosary in celebration of the month of the Rosary. Each student also received a beautifully made rosary in our school colors, provided by Our Lady’s Rosary Makers.
Our Vikings for Gold Club also hosted a trunk or treat event for children from the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley Oct. 25. The club continues to help plan and participate in events, fundraisers and other volunteer opportunities that support local families affected by pediatric cancer.
Congratulations to our Scholastic Scrimmage team, who secured a 295-185 victory over Pen Argyl Area High School in its first-round match. Their second-round match will be Nov. 13. Great job Vikes!
Our Central City Project has been busy helping out the community. On Oct. 28, they served 50 families in the Jordan Heights Neighborhood, using hot peppers from the Amy Sullivan memorial urban garden. Additionally, 40 families also received a bag of lettuce grown by St. Thomas More school students.
Congratulations to our Vikettes, who are a part of the Salisbury Field Hockey team, for their 2-0 win over Southern Lehigh. The team has secured the title of District Champs for the first time in history. Amazing work Vikettes!
We will host our Veterans Day Mass Nov. 11 in Rockne Hall. All our veterans are welcome to join us. Mass will begin 9:45 a.m. but we recommend you are seated by 9:30 a.m. There will be a light reception for veterans, families and students who are relatives of our veterans, following the Mass. If you are interested, visit our social media platforms for more information.
Finally, ACCHS Alumni (ages 21-38) are encouraged to come out for the diocese of Allentown’s Young Adult Night with Paul J. Kim. The event is 7-9 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Bethlehem Brew Works Steel Annex Room. There is an entry charge.
