Whitehall Township Public Library: Fall basket raffle underway

Whitehall Township Public Library’s fall basket raffle runs through Nov. 1. The library will host a wide range of items, from gift certificates to filled baskets and a 50/50.

Winners will be called the week of Nov. 3.

Day of the Dead skull painting, for teens in grades 6-12, is planned for 1 p.m. Nov. 1. Learn about Día de Los Muertos while painting ceramic sugar skulls.

Space is limited, so registration is required.

Historical lecturer Michael Jesberger will be presenting “Footprints in the Snow — Washington’s Army of 1776” 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10. This presentation recounts the very real human story of those men who marched with Gen. George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence.

Registration is requested.

The library is offering one-on-one appointments with a certified Medicare enrollment counselor. The time slots are 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Dec. 1.

You can get free, personalized help with enrollment or other questions that you might have.

The library has a number of clubs that meet monthly.

The book club for adults meets 1 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Come and discuss what you’re currently reading.

The coloring club for adults meets 11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays and 5:30-7:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month.

The Good Yarn group meets for knitting, crocheting and other needle crafts 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month.

The Death Cafe, a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes, meets 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of the month.

The library’s regular hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
