Roughies Report: CASD food service positions sought
Catasauqua Area School District is currently seeking applicants for an available food service position. Join the food service team in preparing and serving nutritious meals to students and staff in a positive, fast-paced environment.
This position is a daytime, weekday role with hours from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. late August through early June each year, with a starting rate of $15.08 per hour.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. This position is responsible for preparing and serving meals to large numbers of students and staff, operating as a cashier (computer skills required) and cleaning and maintaining kitchen and service areas. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods of time, regularly carry up to 25 pounds, while occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds, and working effectively in a busy, fast-changing environment.

It’s that time of year! Catasauqua Area School District’s music department is hosting a holiday gift card bingo Nov. 22 in the cafeteria at Catasauqua High School.
Doors open 11 a.m., and bingo games will begin 12:30 p.m.
There will also be door prizes, raffles and special games. Ticket prices are cheaper if purchased in advance.

CASD Board of Education meetings are scheduled 7-8:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are generally held in the board room at the administrative offices, 201 N. 14th St.
The next board meeting will be Nov. 11; however, this meeting is held at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, 4500 Education Park, Schnecksville.

CASD has a job opportunity available for a short-term substitute for seventh-grade science at Catasauqua Middle School, from approximately Dec. 8 to Jan. 16, 2026.
Candidate qualifications include a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in middle-level science grades 6-9, general science grades 7-12 or related area; other certifications will be considered. Potential candidates should have experience teaching at the middle school level, strong classroom management and communication skills and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
This position reports directly to the building principal. Compensation is $191 per day, with no benefits.
