North Catasauqua: Register by Oct. 31 to attend veterans breakfast
North Catasauqua Police Association will host its annual free veterans breakfast 8-10 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Masonic Lodge, 1103 Sixth St. There will be an opening ceremony, which includes the playing of the national anthem and an invocation. There will also be guest speakers.
To attend, you must be registered by Oct. 31. Provide your first and last name, so you can be added to the attendance roster. To register, contact Cpl. Santiago, U.S. Army retired command sergeant major, at 610-264-1504 or ssantiago@ncatapd.org.
Limited seats are available. You may bring a guest, but they must be registered.

Reminder: A Scam Jam event is planned for 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 30 at East Allen Township Municipal Building, 5344 Nor Bath Blvd., Northampton. The event is a program to help you spot and avoid scams and is hosted by state Sen. Nick Miller who will be joined by Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, Northampton County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and AARP Pennsylvania.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Nov. 3 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St. The meeting will be hybrid, with both in-person and virtual options.

The 2025 general election is Nov. 4. The polls will be open Election Day 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Completed mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Nov. 4.

With Veterans Day approaching, consider purchasing a North Catasauqua Hometown Heroes banner. The banners will be hung around small Town USA and are a great way to honor or remember a relative or friend who served in any branch of the military. The is a cost. The banners are 30 inches by 60 inches, similar to the banners already installed around the borough.
A photo of the individual to be put on the banner will be needed with the name of the individual on the back of the photo. The banners will be installed and hung on various streets in the borough.
Banner application forms are available at borough hall during regular business hours.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will be holding its next free community lunch, set for 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
The lunch is given to folks in the community with food insecurity or those who could use a helping hand.
The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.
