Emmaus Garden Club holds flower show

Press Photos by Kathy HassickThe Emmaus Garden Club presented the “Bounty ‘N’ Bloom” flower show recently at Faith Presbyterian Church in Emmaus. According to flower show chair Ann Johnson, this community event educates as well as brings the beauty of horticulture to the community. Geri Duke takes a closer look at the photography exhibit featuring photos of flowers, fruits and vegetables. This is the first year for photography to be part of the club’s flower show.
Mary Jane Risch creates a informative display entitled “Bamboo...Creeping Up on You.” The display serves to educate the viewer on the many varieties of bamboo, harvesting techniques and how this versatile grass is used in everyday life.
A vibrant collection of cut flowers show a variety of hues and textures in the cut specimens division of the flower show.
Working in shades of green, dish gardens showcase the variety, beauty and artistic expression needed to create a unique display.
A balance of color, texture and a properly placed focal point are the keys to a successful composition as Joanne Barnowsky knows well. Barnowsky earned second place for her efforts.
