Eisenhower fire station sold at auction

The Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company’s Eisenhower fire station, 3425 Eisenhower Ave., was sold at auction Oct. 25. Tom Hall Auctions conducted the sale on behalf of the fire company. A minimum bid of $185,000 was set for the building, but auctioneer Tom Hall, of Tom Hall Auctions, said bidding quickly escalated to the winning bid of $380,000 by a buyer whose identity has not been publicly disclosed pending completion of the sale. The fire station was built in 1959 when WSVFC began serving the community. The station was reactivated as temporary quarters for the fire company while the Swain fire station, 950 S. Ott St., was demolished and replaced by a new building during 2023 and 2024.PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH
