Donald “Spyder” J. Genovese Sr., 88, of Whitehall, died Oct. 24, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of Marie (Frack) Genovese for 56 years.
Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Nederostek) Genovese.
He was last employed as a laborer for Whitehall Township Municipal Authority for 32 years before retiring in 2002.
He was a longtime member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton, where he also served as an usher for years.
In his earlier years, he served as a volunteer firefighter for Northampton Fire Department and Whitehall- Cementon Fire Department. He was a former coach with the Cementon Athletics Association, a 50-year member of the shuffleboard league at the former Laurel Hotel, a bowler with the men’s league at the former St. Joe’s Sick and Beneficial Society and a charter member of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald J. Jr. and wife Rhonda of Whitehall; two grandchildren, Dawson and Kailyn; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald R.
