Carl H. Shafer

of Breinigsville

Carl H. Shafer, 89, of Breinigsville, died peacefully in his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Edith G. (Mengel) Shafer with whom he shared many years of marriage together. Born in Hosensack, he was the son of the late Edwin and Minnie (Ruppert) Shafer.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service, he worked for Ceramet and Bally Case and Cooler for many years until his retirement. In retirement he continued to work as a driver for Haldeman Ford and lastly for Upper Macungie Township. He enjoyed camping, doing crosswords and watching old cowboy movies, especially John Wayne. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Connie, of Breinigsville; stepdaughters, Tonia Cruz, of Bethlehem, Tammy Moss, of Centerport, Sandy Murch; stepson, Anthony Skidmore; granddaughter, Jade, stepgranddaughters, Rockel Stoudt, Kattie Cruz and Samantha Weaver; great-grandchildren, Jadayah and Anthony Arce Jr.; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kohen Stoudt, Kameryn Stoudt, Trey Clark, Lilyanna Clark, Jayden Weaver and Caleb Weaver; brother, Gary, of Trexlertown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
