Barton John Friebolin, 82, of Allentown, died Oct. 18, 2025, at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. Born in Slatedale, he was the son of the late Marvin Ralph and Rosann D. (Mack) Friebolin.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 to 1985, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his distinguished military career, he was awarded two Purple Heart Medals and the Bronze Star.
He attended Heidelberg Union Church in Slatington and was a past president of the Upper Lehigh Lions Club, Schnecksville.
He is survived by children, Gretchen A., of Monteagle, Tenn., Heidi S. Walsh and her husband, Bil, of Jacksonville, Fla. and Erik P. and his wife, Jennifer, of Plant City, Fla; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Andrea J., Curtis M.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service.
