“The most important issue facing voters is multifaceted: a high quality of life, safety and well-being and trust in local government. Voters want balanced growth — protecting open space, agriculture and historic sites while supporting vibrant parks, recreation, strong township services, and safe, effective, protective zoning that preserves community character.
Safety remains a top concern, requiring full support for police, fire, EMS and public works, along with investment in infrastructure and traffic safety improvements. Equally important is trust in leadership. Voters expect transparency, accessibility and follow-through from their elected officials. That includes clear communication, easy access to meetings and financial documents and responsible stewardship of tax dollars through rigorous budget oversight.
Ultimately, voters want a government that is open, responsive, and participative — one that keeps them informed, engaged and confident that their voices matter. These are the standards I will continue to uphold while serving my community.”
Republican Chris Peischl
“The biggest challenge to South Whitehall is managing development. There is going to be development, not only managing the direct impacts on the land is key, but also managing the indirect impacts, traffic, utilities being the two biggest. Township is mandated by law to accommodate all zoning types within the township. Residents don’t want high density or industrial in their neighborhood, but the township needs to accommodate it. However, the township can put restrictions on the site to help lessen the impacts on the neighborhood.
“We can also use our transportation plan and work with PennDOT to address traffic concerns and develop patterns to help lessen how traffic will flow into the road networks. South Whitehall is fortunate to control its water and sewer system and can ensure new development doesn’t overtax these utilities. My experience on authority board gives me the knowledge to help address these issues.”
•Magisterial District Judge 31-2-02 - 6-year term - vote for one
Democrat Derek A. Kirsopp
Republican Jake Hammond
•South Whitehall Tax Collector - 4-year term
Democrat/Republican Lynn Anne Kocon
