The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will host its fall 2025 dessert card party 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. The event helps support the club’s scholarship program. Card games and board games will be played. Reservations closed Oct. 16.

The Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group will hold its monthly meeting 10 a.m. to noon. The meeting is offered in a hybrid format – in-person at the Palmer branch of the Easton Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer and online via Zoom. Membership business will be conducted 10 to 11 a.m. Author Juilene Osborne-McKnight will present the talk “Goal, Motivation, and Conflict” 11 a.m. to noon. Using literary and film examples, this discussion will differentiate goal from motivation and will look at how conflict arises from each. Osborne-McKnight is the author of “The Story We Carry in Our Bones: Irish History for Americans.” She is Professor Emerita of DeSales University where she taught Irish studies and creative writing. An afternoon workshop is scheduled 1:30-3 p.m. Registration is required for the afternoon workshop and there is a fee for nonmembers.

Friends of the Macungie Institute will hold a bingo fundraiser in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall. Doors open noon and games begin 1 p.m. There will be cash prizes, raffles and food. Ribbons of C.A.R.E. invites the community to a heartwarming “Breakfast-for-Dinner” celebration honoring women’s strength and resilience during Breast Cancer Awareness Month 5-7 p.m., 318 Main St., Emmaus.

The Allentown Music Club will present “An American Program” 2:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, featuring patriotic music, folk music and jazz. Performers are Sherman Cox, clarinet, The Asbury Trio featuring Jonathan Beitler, piano, John Lucas, guitar, Rich Gonya, drums and Patricia Alercia, soprano The program coordinator is Santa Peters. The event is free and open to the public.

Emmaus Garden Club meeting noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmmaus. Entrance at the back of the building; parking at Bethel and St. John’s UCC, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus. The program will be “A Conversation about C-Change.” Kathleen Biggins will present a program on the impact of climate change.

The Emmaus Borough / Upper Milford Township Joint Environmental Advisory Council will host a bulb and seed swap 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus. Participants who wish to may bring extra bulbs from their garden to share and swap with others and are welcome to include a photo of the plants so others can see what the plants look like when in bloom. Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will host a program about Ralph Berky 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St. Ralph Berry was an eccentric figure who fed the birds from the seeds in the pocket of his overcoat and was known as “The Birdman.” All are welcome and admission is free.
