Author uses humor, scientific curiosity to captivated students
The Northwestern Elementary Library hosted New York Times best-selling author, Nathan W. Pyle, on Sept. 18.
This special author visit was made possible by The End: a bookstore located in Allentown.
They sponsored this incredible event through their Authors to Schools program, a community outreach initiative aiming to inspire young readers by providing access to acclaimed writers and enriching student experiences with literature.
This is the 11th year for the bookstore’s Authors to Schools program.
Librarian Sue Hanlon has been a part of the program for most of those years and registers Northwestern Elementary by applying on their website.
She has hosted two other authors in previous years for fifth graders.
Both Michael Buckley and Matthew Cody’s books have become favorites in the library!
Pyle captivated the imaginations of first and second graders with his unique blend of humor and scientific curiosity as he presented his newest book, “Tuck Me In.”
The book explores the moon’s effect on the ocean’s tides.
During his visit, he shared stories sparking creativity, and inspiring young minds during his interactive presentation.
The author’s enthusiasm and warm demeanor had students beaming with excitement and eagerly listening before leaving with big smiles and fresh new ideas.
The partnership provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect with a celebrated renowned author.
The visit served as a testament to the power of storytelling and the importance of nurturing a love of reading in young people.
Hanlon was filled with gratitude and joy as she spoke very highly of The End, a bookstore for providing this amazing opportunity for the students of NWE.
