North Catasauqua: IAACS plans trunk or treat

Innovative Arts Academy Charter School will hold its sixth annual trunk or treat 5-6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 in the school parking lot, 330 Howertown Road, Catasauqua.

Salem United Church of Christ, 615 Third St., Catasauqua, will be hosting a flea market, planned for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 25 All flea market sales are by donation.

There will be a basket raffle, food for purchase, baked goods and the church’s “famous” pickled beets on the main floor.

North Catasauqua Police Association will host its annual free veterans breakfast 8-10 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Masonic Lodge, 1103 Sixth St.

Limited seats are available. You may bring a guest, but they must be registered.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua is holding its monthly food drive, planned for 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 14 in the church parking lot, 210 Pine St. Drive through to donate your items.

Nonperishable food items will be accepted to benefit Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

Catasauqua High School’s music department asks the public to join them in National Wreaths Across America Dec. 13. Help the band honor local heroes and sponsor a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 1239 Third St., announces Good Shepherd CYO winter sports sign-ups are open for basketball for grades K-8 and high school basketball for grades 9-12. You can play CYO sports even if you don’t go to Good Shepherd, as long as you are enrolled in PREP classes at one of the affiliated parishes. North Catasauqua Borough Council has approved and signed a five-year garbage and recycling collection contract with J.P. Mascaro and Sons, starting in 2026.

Garbage and recycling will continue to be collected weekly like it has been. Prices for residents and businesses in 2026 have not yet been determined.

Visit the North Catasauqua Little Free Library book exchange box located at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St., at the front entrance porch area. The Little Free Library is available anytime and has books available for all ages.
