Monika Safar - WE/Lucent assembly line worker

Monika Safar, 91, of Kondorfa, Hungary, and formerly of Bethlehem, died October 13, 2025 in Kormend, Hungary.

Born in Kondorfa, Hungary, she was a daughter of the late Regina Medics Herczeg and Imre Herczeg. She was the wife of the late Frank Safar for 59 years.

She emigrated to the U.S. in 1956. She worked first in the garment industry in Bethlehem. She as an assembly line worker for AT&T / Western Electric / Lucent for many years until she retired.

She is survived by a son, Frank Safar and daughter-in-law Diane of Macungie; a brother, Leslie Herczeg and his wife Shirley of Allentown; three grandchildren; Rebecca Pruitt of Hawkins, Texas; Alexander Safar of northeast Maryland and Michael Safar and fiancée Erica Isner of LaPlata, Maryland.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, James Herczeg of Bethlehem; and a sister, Juli Pali of Kondorfa, Hungary.
