Senior Izzy Szmodis (Freedom HS) from the Moravian University’s women’s tennis and women’s golf squads has been named the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance back at the end of September.

Szmodis had an undefeated week on the tennis courts for the Greyhounds as Moravian posted a pair of wins to start the 2025-26 season. Szmodis recorded straight sets wins at first singles at DeSales University and versus Lycoming College over the weekend, and she teamed with junior Leah Zolotareva for two victories at first doubles.

Szmodis began the week with a fifth-place finish with a round of 103 for the Moravian women’s golf squad at the Moravian Weyhill Classic.

The Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week is selected on Mondays by Moravian’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Sodexo will be giving each week’s winner a free Starbucks drink at DeLight’s Café.
