Pumpkin carving contest Oct. 29

From tests to homework, everyone gets busy during the school year, but there’s always something happening. The halls are buzzing with energy as students dive into fresh activities and upcoming events.

Join the fun with a pumpkin carving contest Oct. 29 sponsored by Habitat for Humanity during homeroom in the cafeteria. Form a team of up to six friends and show your creativity to win prizes for Most Creative, Most Festive or Best Overall. All supplies are provided – just bring your school spirit and your painting skills. There is a charge per team. Students must register by Oct. 22. Once registered, students will receive a confirmation email to use as the homeroom pass for the event.

Thinking about retaking your school picture? Makeup picture day will be held Oct. 15 in the auditorium.

On Oct. 22, early dismissal for Emmaus High School and middle schools will take place 11 a.m.

The Interact Club is hosting an animal food drive for the Animal Food Bank of Lehigh Valley which will be donated to families in need. The food drive will accept collections through Nov. 1 in the box outside of Room 216, Mrs. Kaunitz’s room.

They are collecting primarily dry and wet cat and dog food but pet food for smaller pets is also accepted and greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, email asimko27@eastpennsd.org, braggi27@eastpennsd.org or sdmello27@eastpennsd.org.

Make sure all schoolwork is completed by the end of the month because the end of the first marking period is Oct. 31.

Tickets for the EHS fall play, “The Diary of Anne Frank” are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased on the EHS website. The show will run 7 p.m. Nov. 6, 7 and 8. Come out to support the cast and crew.

EHS Kid to Kid is honoring the national Red Ribbon Week campaign this year by creating an EHS Red Ribbon Week T-shirt to wear them Oct. 30. They are selling the shirt to students, faculty and staff in hopes they help to support the drug free message behind Red Ribbon Week.

Details about sale and delivery are found on the school website. All orders are due by Oct. 17. Help spread the message. Be Kind to Your Mind. Be Drug Free.

If you are interested in playing a winter sport for EHS, check out the link sent to your school email, or the online high school website. All of the physical information and impact testing is provided on the school website. Tryouts are Nov. 14. The last day to sign up was Oct. 14.

Boys varsity football will have its senior night Oct. 17 against William Allen High School, as this will be their last home game of the season.

As we push our way through this first quarter, make the most out of your high school career, because it flies away just like that. So get involved, stay focused and most importantly have fun.
