Public Library of Catasauqua: Minecraft and Gaming Club to meet Oct. 18, Nov. 1 at library
October is upon us, and we at the Public Library of Catasauqua are trying to adjust to early sunsets and spooky evenings! As your nighttimes increase, remember there are lots of great items to read or watch down here at the library.

The library’s Minecraft and Gaming Club, for ages 8 and older, meets every other Saturday. Our next get-togethers are scheduled for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 18 and Nov. 1. It is free, and there will be help for new players.

Our family movie for October is the haunting and scary tale “Coraline.” Come out 11 a.m. Oct. 25 for our showing and have some popcorn on us!

On Nov. 5, our adult book club will be discussing “The Shoemaker’s Wife” by Adriana Trigiani, an author with connections to eastern Pennsylvania. Stop by to let us help you find a copy of the book or just to listen in on the great conversation. The club meets 3 p.m.
The group meets the first Wednesday of each month. Call the library for the title of the next book club selection, and we can help you get a copy.
***
The Keep Them In Stitches fiber arts group meets 5:30 p.m. Mondays for fellowship and crocheting or knitting.
***
Our MakerSpace crafting center is always available for your creative endeavors.
***
Our Pie’s On Pizzeria raffle winner was Ben Ellis in the books versus movies contest. Keep a lookout for more displays and contests as the winter goes along.

We had a great history event earlier this month with borough Manager Glenn Eckhart as he brought Ulysses S. Grant to life for a fun and informative 19th-century evening. It was a successful fundraiser for the library.
Thank you to everyone who came out and who donated. We really appreciate your time and attention!
We also had a wonderful time last month demonstrating the boomba, a Pennsylvania Dutch folk instrument, for kids and parents. Thank you for your participation.
Keep your eyes open for more fun programs at the library in the coming weeks and months.

If you see a book you want to read on the following list, call or visit our website to place a hold on a book using your library card.
Also, if you want to suggest a book for us to purchase for the library community, don’t hesitate to talk to us or send us an email at catasauquapl@cliu.org.
Our selection of new titles changes every few weeks, so stop in to check out what’s available on our new books display at the front of the library.
As always, we can get thousands of other items from dozens of other regional libraries in a matter of a day or so.
Come in, call or check out our catalog online. We’ll help you any way we can.
