Kempton Community Center Pickleball court opens

The Kempton Community Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 13 for the addition of an outdoor pickleball court and the addition of four ping pong tables in the center.

Ten local residents were on hand to take part in the ribbon cutting and play pickleball and ping pong.

The additions were added in June allowing residents to enjoy their sports during the summer months.

Residents are invited to use the outdoor facilities such as the children’s playground without any charge.

Residents are encouraged to support the Community Center via a membership fee of $10 for individuals and $25 for a family.

If they would care to support the Community Center and have access to the indoor facilities, the new outdoor pickleball court and the existing tennis courts, there are additional $25 annual fee.

The funds for the additions were provided by a grant from the Berks County Community Foundation’s Albany Township Tomorrow Fund.
