Historical society’s Halloween Spooktacular set for Oct. 19

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society, 4585 Werley’s Coroner Road, New Tripoli, will present its Halloween Spooktacular from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 19.

There will be a spooky barn, face and pumpkin painting, guessing jars, barrel rides, costume parade for ages 1-12 with prizes at 2 p.m., pedal pulls at 3 p.m., scavenger hunt for kids and adults with prizes.

They will also have a bouncy house for kids.

Food will be available for purchase provided by Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Company.

All building and store will be open.

Donations of books and new or gently used clothing for Berks/Lehigh Connecting Cities will be accepted.

Tickets are on sale for the Old Time Plow Boys 1949 Massey Harris Pony Tractor and the 2025 Lap quilt/wall hanging.

The historical society will also be holding their fall basket social noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 26, 1-6 p.m. Oct. 29 and 31 and 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 1.

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is accepting orders until Oct. 19 for their R&K pretzel sandwich and sub sale.

Pretzel sandwiches available in chicken breast with Pepper jack cheese, Italian, ham and cheese, ham and Swiss, turkey and cheese, roast beef and cheese, sweet Lebanon bologna and cheese, all cheese, chicken, egg, and tuna salad.

Subs available in spicy Italian with onions and peppers, Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef, American, with or without onions.

Twelve-inch whole grain roll with turkey and cheese with onion or all cheese and onion.

Pick up will be 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the church.

They are also accepting orders for their homemade Christmas candy until Oct. 26.

Choose either peanut butter meltaways, peanut butter balls, peanut clusters, raisin clusters, nonpareils, sweet and salty, peppermint bark and chocolate covered pretzels by the half-pound or pound.

Orders will be ready for pick up the week of Nov. 23.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner 4-7 p.m. Nov. 1.

The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert. Take out is also available.

Tickets are available at the door.

There is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children under 4 are free.

Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level.

They will also be having a basket raffle.

Hoagie pickup will take place 2-6 p.m. Nov. 6 at the fire station.

They will also be selling Nesting Box Ice Cream in half gallons.

Available flavors are pumpkin cheesecake, caramel apple streusel, maple walnut and vanilla.

They are also selling pies from The Buttered Crumb Bakery and Café, New Tripoli.

Purchased either two apple, two cherry or one of each.

The Music and Worship Committee at Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 6745 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, will present a piano concert “A Sunday in the Church with George: The Music of Gershwin, Bach and Mozart from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 2.

Vincent Trovato, staff accompanist at Muhlenberg College, will provide his renditions of music from Gershwin, Bach, Mozart, and other great composers.

The proceeds from a freewill offering will be directed to the church’s Steeple Repair fund.

A social meet and greet will be held after the concert.
