Edwards jersey retired
Recently, Catasauqua High School retired the #8 softball jersey of Hannah Edwards.
Edwards, a member of the Catasauqua High School Class of 2016, finished her high school softball career as one of the most decorated players in the history of Pennsylvania softball.
•She broke six Pennsylvania state records for career hits (207), runs scored (158) and stolen bases (192), and single season records for hits (57), runs scored (45) and stolen bases (57).
•She finished her career with a batting average of .651 and on base percentage of .696.
•She was named four-time first team all-state, all area and all Colonial League.
•She was named the Morning Call Rookie of the Year as a freshman and the Morning Call Player of the Year as both a junior and a senior.
•She was also named the Pennsylvania High School Softball 2A Player of the Year as both a junior and a senior.
•She was named to 15 All-American Teams including USA Today, Max Preps, Premier Girls Fastpitch and FloSoftball.
•She was ranked the #7 recruit in the country in the Class of 2016 by FloSoftball
•She was selected to play in the 2016 PGF High School All-American Game that was televised on ESPN.
•She was selected as a member of the 2016 Louisville Slugger Hit Club as one of the top ten hitters in the nation.
•She was a member of the Colonial League Championship softball team in 2013 and the runners-up in 2016. She was also a member of the District XI silver medalist teams in 2013 and 2014.
She was a Colonial League Academic All Star and the Valedictorian of the Class of 2016
•She was inducted into the Catasauqua High School Hall of Fame in 2023.
After high school, Hannah continued her softball career at both the University of Pittsburgh and Lehigh University, before an injury ended her career in 2019. She graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in psychology and journalism. She earned her masters of education in student personnel in higher education degree from the University of Florida. She is still residing in Gainesville and is working as an academic adviser and assistant tutor coordinator at the University of Florida working with the football and gymnastic teams.
