St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will host a craft fair and quilt sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11. Vendors will offer a variety of crafts which will be set up throughout the church building. This is an opportunity to shop for gifts for special occasions and the holidays.
Quilts, which will be displayed in the sanctuary, may be purchased or simply enjoyed for their beautiful designs and intricate stitching by the individuals who created them.
It’s a great opportunity to have lunch which offers homemade soup, barbecue and a few other choices.
The event also includes a bake sale, raffle and Pic-a-Tic drawing.
St. John’s is handicap accessible and the event is free for everyone to enjoy.
Union Lutheran Church and Union United Church of Christ welcome children to trunk or treat 1-3 p.m. Oct. 18. Decorated cars will be set up in the parking lots of the Lutheran church and U.C.C. grove.
Children can walk from one place to the other to gather candy and Halloween treats. Hot dogs, pizza, soft pretzels and drinks will be available. Organizers report this is a safe, family friendly Halloween celebration.
The auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will prepare apple dumplings for its next fundraiser. Call Julie at 610-262-7749 by Oct. 18 to reserve your dumplings for pickup Oct. 25 or 26.
