Boys soccer team picks up more wins

Northampton’s boys soccer team picked up more points with wins over Liberty, Pleasant Valley and East Stroudsburg North, and also had a tie against Nazareth.

The Kids scored three times in the second half against the Hurricanes to win 3-1.

Jacob Fallenstein, Joey Snyder and Blaise Anderko all scored for the Kids with Snyder, Fallenstein and Luca Mannino adding assists.

Ryan Nahf made eight saves in net.

Mannino continues to lead the team with 20 goals and 17 assists while Snyder had 15 goals and 15 assists.

“Joey Snyder was absolutely amazing this week and was the best player on the field in both games against very good teams,” said head coach Chris Bastidas. “He had our lone goal in the tie against Nazareth and had a goal and an assist in the big win over Liberty.

“Dante Keen was incredible in the back and Ryan Nahf was exceptional in goal this week. Jacob Fallenstein also had some big time plays.

“Jace Vajda chipped in with some big-time goals and assists in our wins this week.”

Against the Bears, Jace Vajda scored on an assist from Mannino. Connor Magee made it 2-0 thanks to a setup from Snyder.

PV’s Aiden Granda-Salinas cut the deficit to 2-1 but Mannino would add insurance off a pass from Aidan Sugra. Nahf made six saves in the win.

Snyder’s goal in the 1-1 tie against Nazareth game off a pass from Vajda. Nahf made eight saves in the win.

The Kids led 3-0 at the half against Eastburg North, but poured it on with seven goals in the second for the win.

Goal scorers for the Kids were Vajda, Snyder (2), Mannino (3), Fallenstein, Keen, Blaise Anderko and Brett Anderko.

Keen (2), Mannino (2), Snyder, Camden Armour, James Opacic and Blaise Anderko all had assists and the Kids recorded 32 shots on goal.

The Kids fell to Parkland this week and have one more game against Whitehall before the EPC playoffs start this weekend, which are then followed by the District 11 playoffs.
