During the Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority meeting Sept. 18, General Manager Matt Harleman reported on two Lehigh County Authority invoices.
The first is for the first quarter of 2025, final 2024, treatment charge. The invoice total is $160,050. It should appear on the invoice register split into two separate payments.
CWSA has identified a portion of this bill in the amount of $43,087 that CWSA will dispute with LCA.
Harleman recommends the board approve these two separate payments and allow the holding of the checks until Attorney Andrew Schantz and Harleman can meet and draft a letter to send with the separate checks.
The second LCA invoice was brought up because it does not appear on this month’s invoice register. This invoice is for the second quarter treatment charges of 2025. The invoice was just received Sept. 17. It was decided to pay this in full.
A motion to add the second invoice from LCA to the register was voted on and carried.
Chairman James Hahn brought up a letter received regarding the minimum municipal obligation pension plan estimate for 2026. A motion to accept the MMO payment was voted on and approved.
Hahn also mentioned CWSA has sent recommendations to Coplay Borough and Whitehall Township regarding the Regional Act 537 Plan.
A moment of silence was held for the fallen police officers in York County.
Lee Rackus, township bureau chief and building code official, sent CWSA a note of thanks after the group sent her a basket in support after her mother’s death.
