Joseph “Joe” L. Conneen died Sept. 24, 2025 in Melbourne, Florida. Born in Sumter, South Carolina, and raised in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Jane and Joe Conneen. He was the husband of the late Mari Conneen for 60 years.

He attended the Pennington School for Boys for College Prep. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Jacksonville University, Florida.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1969.

He was a staff accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Jacksonville. He later was chief financial officer of Universal Investors Trust, Miami, Florida. He relocated to Melbourne, Florida, and worked in real estate development and custom home building. He was a FHA and VA Building Compliance Inspector. An art enthusiast, he owned galleries in Melbourne and Winter Park, Florida.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Jane Sturgis (Doc) of Media, Pennsylvania; three sons, Christopher (Robin), Matthew (Helena) and Michael, all of Brevard County, Florida; six granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a younger sister Mimi; two sons, Patrick and Joseph; and a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Henderson Conneen,
