There is no quit in the Salisbury girls soccer team.
The Falcons have discovered that if you keep playing hard, good things will happen.
After dropping their first two games of the season, the Falcons have put together a string of a couple of solid games and appear close to working on a turnaround.
After a 10-1 loss to Saucon Valley, which remains undefeated in the early going, Salisbury could have figured it was just going to be a long season.
Instead, the Falcons faced a Palisades team that is now 6-1-1 on the year and played the Lady Pirates tough before falling 3-1. Goalie Kasey Kaough kept Palisades’ offense in check with 19 saves in the game, giving the offense the opportunity to climb back into the game.
Molly Foley scored goal for Salisbury with Lauren Scialla getting the assist.
On the heels of the losses to the Panthers and Pirates, Salisbury made the trip to Jim Thorpe and enjoyed the bus ride home after beating the Olympians 3-1 to record its first win of the season.
The Falcons got balanced scoring with Monique Calderon, Scialla, and Foley all getting goals in the win. Salisbury had five corners compared to just two for Jim Thorpe and Kaough made six saves in goal.
The week ended with a 7-1 loss to Wilson (5-3-0).
The schedule has Salisbury (1-4) going to Notre Dame of Green Pond (4-3) before a pair of home games against Bangor (8-1) and Palmerton (2-5).
