Parkland girls volleyball team wins three straight matches

The Parkland High School girls volleyball team had a difficult stretch early in the 2025 regular season.

But the Trojans have caught some fire and are playing some of their best volleyball of the season to date.

Last week, Parkland was victorious in three consecutive conference matches in straight sets, taking down Pocono Mountain East and Dieruff last Tuesday and Wednesday and then defeating East Stroudsburg North on Thursday.

This past Saturday, the Trojans hosted their annual Invitational and went 2-1-1 overall.

In the win against the Cardinals, scores were 25-15, 25-17, 25-15. Riley Schilling led the offense nine kills, while Sami Walls tallied seven. Both Kasia Burda and Paige Jacoski recorded five kills and MJ Bhanji had four. Chloe Coonradt and Alex Serina paced the defense with nine digs. Serina also finished with 20 assists.

In the victory over the Huskies, scores were 25-6, 25-13, 25-17. Schilling and Burda notched six kills each and Walls added five, also coming up with three blocks. Coonradt totaled 11 digs and Serina contributed 24 assists.

Scores in the win over the Timberwolves were 25-9, 25-9, 25-7. Schilling netted nine kills and Walls recorded eight kills. Coonradt tallied 10 digs and Josee Kim added five. Serina contributed 27 assists.

In the Tournament over the weekend, Parkland won its first match by scores of 25-18, 25-18, then tied Unionville by scores of 18-25, 25-23. Next, the Trojans beat Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 25-20, 25-13 and then fell in the end to Penfield 25-11.

Bhanji finished with 10 kills, Burda recorded 16 kills and Schilling tallied 12 kills. Coonradt had 29 digs. Serina contributed 43 assists.

Parkland, which improved to 6-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference, has three matches this week.
