The Emmaus High School girls soccer team remained undefeated in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action as it won both of tits games last week at Memorial Field.
The Hornets defeated Pocono Mountain East 7-0 last Wednesday night for the third consecutive shutout and then took down Central Catholic 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
In the victory against the Cardinals, five different players scored goals, led by three from Hannah Berk. Lizzy Bender and Ella Scharper each had a goal to round out the scoring. Bender also contributed four assists, while Berk, Scharper and Atlanta Bogert all added one assist. Sadie Wallace and Olivia Haberl combined on the shutout in net with Haberl tallying two saves.
In the win over the Vikettes, CCHS took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in just the eighth minute. The deficit remained the same through to halftime until Emmaus found the back of the net twice in the second half. Sophia Shutkufksi connected on a strike from outside the 18 in the 57th minute to tie the score and then Bender scored the game-winner just 15 minutes later. Wallace finished with four saves in net.
Emmaus improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
