Hornet football falls to unbeaten Easton, 42-7

The Emmaus football team lost to unbeaten Easton last Friday night, 42-7 at Cottingham Stadium to finish the first half of the 2025 season.

The Red Rovers (5-0) pulled out to a 42-0 lead before the Hornets’ third quarter touchdown erased the shutout.

Easton quarterback Cole Ordway completed 8 of 11 passes in the win, throwing for 162 yards and hitting three different receivers with his trio of touchdown tosses. The senior signal caller also rushed seven times for 108 yards (15.4 yards per carry) and two touchdowns.

Skyler Fowlin led the Rovers with two catches for 95 yards and one score. Sophomore quarterback Zahviay McGurn competed all six of his passes in the game for the Rovers.

The Hornets (2-3) will look to regroup Friday night when they host Central Catholic.

The Vikings (2-3) are coming off a 28-24 loss to Bethlehem Catholic. They own wins this season over Trinity and Pocono Mountain East, and have lost to Liberty, Freedom and Becahi.

The Hornets had a two-game win streak snapped by Easton. After opening the season with losses to Neshaminy and Beca, Emmaus beat Reading and Stroudsburg before falling to Easton.

Emmaus will try to get some momentum over the second half of the season as its game against Central will be followed by a trip to Whitehall and home games against Dieruff and Allen before the season finale at Parkland on Oct. 24.
