The Emmaus High School boys soccer team continued its strong start to the 2025 regular season.
The Hornets won their opening three games in week one and remained unbeaten through the second week, winning a pair of Eastern Pennsylvania Conference games last week.
In the first game of the week last Wednesday afternoon, Emmaus had to rally late and was taken to overtime in holding on for a 2-1 road victory. Last Friday afternoon at Memorial Field, the Hornets took down Central Catholic 2-0 at home.
In the win over the Cardinals, PME took an early 1-0 lead on a goal in the first half by Zachary Szerszen. That score remained the same into halftime.
In the second half, Emmaus tied the score on a goal by Brennan Stack. The game went into overtime after neither team broke through. Canyon Reinhardt found the back of the net in the extra session to allow his team to celebrate with a golden goal.
Will Peck finished with one save in net. Emmaus held an 11-2 advantage in shots and 8-0 edge in corner kicks.
In the victory against the Vikings, the two teams were scoreless through the opening half, but the Hornets scored twice in the second half and kept CCHS off the scoreboard to take the win.
Anthony Suida and Andrew Manz were the two goal scorers and Noah Delgado and Aleksander Przybylski had the assists. Gavin Yartymyk made one save in net. Emmaus had 13 shots to Central’s one and the Hornets held a 4-1 edge in corners.
Emmaus remained undefeated at 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference heading into this week’s games.
