The Emmaus cross country teams remained unbeaten through their second East Penn Conference multi-team meet of the season as both teams went 3-0 last week during a meet held at Whitehall.
Behind record-setting performances by the Hornets’ top girls and boys runners, Emmaus beat three Pocono area teams as both teams improved to 6-0 this season.
Two-time defending District 11 champ Mady McCartney took first place in the girls meet with a course record time of 19:59.
Hornet senior Ryan Fach also ran a record time, coming in at 17:43 to break the tape in the boys race.
In the girls meet, Emmaus beat Stroudsburg (15-50), East Stroudsburg North (15-50) and East Stroudsburg South (15-50).
McCartney won the girls race with teammate Grace Nosal (21:31) placing second. Isabella Allwine-Balliro (21:58) was third followed by Olivia Fleck (22:17) fourth and Nitzana Jamaica (23:17) rounding out the Hornets team scoring with a sixth-place overall finish.
The Emmaus boys team also went 3-0 at the meet, beating both ESS and ESN by 18-37 scores and cruising past Stroudsburg 15-50.
David Hearn (17:59) finished second overall and just 16 seconds behind his record-setting teammate. Zachary Zappile (18:34) finished sixth overall at the meet, while Roen Woolf (18:39) and Sullivan Hochbein (18:41) finished seventh and eighth overall, respectively.
