America’s Grow-a-Row is a 423-acre farm that grows and donates fresh produce to those in need, thanks to thousands of volunteers, donating over 25 million pounds across NJ, NY, PA and beyond. Volunteer events are 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday and select Thursday evenings from April through mid-November. Join us in feeding our neighbors in need! Locations are in Pittstown or Milford, NJ. Support Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering with their fundraiser at Eberts Hall for “Shindig at the Shelter” Oct. 3. Many volunteers are needed for setting up, greeting guests, serving meals, and bussing tables from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Minimum age 16 with an adult. Contact Maria, 484-602-5505, mshior@bes-inc.org.

Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor has volunteer opportunities to support their RaceFest on Nov. 9 for any skillset, time frame or location throughout the Lehigh Valley. Itty Bitty Kitty, Allentown, needs volunteers to help clean and maintain the shelter on weekday mornings (any time before 11 a.m.) and select evenings (any time after 5 p.m.) Each shift includes feeding and giving fresh water, scooping litter boxes, washing dishes, sweeping the floor and playing with the cats. Lehigh Valley Humane Society, Allentown, needs volunteers daily to help with the laundry department at the shelter anytime between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Training is required. Flexible schedule. Contact Lindsay, 610-797-1205, ext. 315, lfly@lehighhumane.org.

Lily’s Hope Foundation, Allentown, supports babies, children and their families with unexpected and urgent needs due to premature birth by providing them with essential items, since they have been unable to prepare for their child’s early arrival. Drivers are needed to take elderly/and or disabled people to doctor appointments and grocery shopping. Members receiving services can enter and exit a vehicle independently. Looking for a meaningful way to give back this season? Join The Salvation Army, Allentown, in making a difference in our community through a variety of seasonal volunteer opportunities including signing up families for Christmas assistance, sorting coats and clothing for distribution, plus much more!
