Lehigh Township Historical Society will be holding a gravestone preservation workshop 2-3 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Berlinsville Cemetery. This is a hands-on, basic gravestone cleaning demonstration.

Information on protocols will be explained, along with recommended tools and techniques. Materials will be provided.

Reminder: Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, will hold its 30th annual basket social 4 p.m. Oct. 3. Guests will have the chance to win a wide variety of baskets. For those feeling extra lucky, the special table will feature high-value prizes worth $50 and more.

A full menu will be offered, including barbecue, halushki, soups and baked goods. Food is available for dine-in or takeout.

Proceeds will be shared between Hope’s Good Samaritan Fund and Lutheran Disaster Relief for Texas Flood Victims.

For three decades, this event has brought friends, families and neighbors together for an evening of fellowship, fun and community support.
