District News: Homecoming dance set for Oct. 4 in NAHS gymnasium

Northampton Area High School’s homecoming dance will take place 5-9 p.m. Oct. 4 in the gymnasium at the high school.

Reminder: PTA meetings in Northampton Area School District are underway. Please consider joining one of these groups.

• Moore Elementary School: 5-8 p.m. Oct. 2

• Lehigh Elementary School: 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 7

Join the Lunch Bunch at Northampton Area Middle School! Lunch Bunch is a great way to meet new people and have lunch with friends. During Lunch Bunch, students have the opportunity to focus on friendship skills, conflict resolution, managing emotions and coping skills. The group meets once a week during its lunch period.

Are you in need of food to help you prepare nutritious meals? The NAMS Food Pantry is open during the school year to provide assistance to families, and items are now available.

The group is also collecting food items. Please consider donating to the school’s pantry to help continue its mission.

Did you know there are many services available through the guidance department?

Valley Youth House’s school-based counseling program is available to students and offers a minimum of three sessions provided by a master-level counselor.

Club Ophelia is another program available. Your child will be matched with a high school student.

Join the Homework Club, an opportunity for students to receive homework assistance.

Please reach out to your child’s school counselor if you are interested in any of these programs.

Reminders: Those who are parking on the streets in Northampton, make sure not to park on streets where you need parking permits from the borough. It is possible your vehicle will be ticketed.

You must carry your ID each day. It is needed to scan in and out of the building and to sign into the study hall.
