Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help in the Client Choice Food Pantry 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday for one or more days per month or 3-6 p.m. Thursday evenings. Help clients select their food and place it in the bags. Clients are very happy to have assistance and help. Training is provided on-site. The minimum age to volunteer is 18. Clearances and attendance at a one hour orientation are required. Hours and days are flexible, but volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular schedule of at least one hour per week. The warming station at River Crossing YMCA, Allentown, will reopen for the season Sept. 30 through April 30, 2026. Volunteers are needed 6:30-9:00 p.m., seven days a week, to help welcome guests, serve warm meals, distribute supplies and offer compassionate support to those experiencing homelessness.
