State police respond to a series of incidents at KidsPeace

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, is currently investigating several incidents that recently occurred at KidsPeace in North Whitehall Township.

Troopers from Bethlehem and Fogelsville stations responded to eight separate incidents including aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and juvenile runaways at KidsPeace Sept. 14-16.

Troopers detained at least one juvenile for striking a staff member with a radio, which resulted in injury.

Additionally, troopers made a number of arrests, including one juvenile arrested for felony aggravated assault and two juveniles charged with simple assault – one of the juveniles charged with simple assault will be arrested and detained.

Several other juveniles were given harassment citations for assaults that did not lead to injury.

Troopers were also able to locate all juvenile runaways.

Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and Lehigh County Juvenile Probation assisted in the investigation.

State police are advising residents in the area to contact police at 610-861-2026 if they observe juveniles who have fled the KidsPeace facility.
