Fire company to host breakfast
Volunteers at the Schnecksville Fire Company will host a buffet style, all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 28.
The menu will include ham, sausage, creamed chipped beef, home fries, pancakes, toast, omelets, eggs made to order and beverages. Mimosas will be available at an additional cost.
Additional breakfasts are planned for the last Sundays in October and November.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer off,” Alice Stahley, fire company representative, said.
The organization is always looking for volunteers to help at the breakfasts and at other events where the kitchen is open such as auctions which are usually held on a weekday.
Sacred Voices, an ecumenical summer choir of 55 singers founded and directed by Susan Frickert, will present a concert at Union Lutheran Church 4 p.m. Sept. 28.
The theme this year is “Get on Board, Little Children: The African-American Spiritual.” Guest soloist will be Evelyn Stewart, a professional singer and voice teacher in the Lehigh Valley.
The concert will include familiar spirituals in new arrangements, as well as some lesser know beautiful spirituals. Stewart will be featured in five of the choir’s selections and will also sing two solos on her own.
There is a charge for tickets. Call 610-767-6884 for information.
