St. Stephen’s holds annual yard sale

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church held its third annual fall community yard sale Sept. 20 on the church grounds, 3900 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall.

The hard work of many volunteers coordinated this successful event.

Two parking attendants were busy guiding a large amount of cars into two parking areas. Inside the church, several volunteers appeared happy to organize and serve attendees. Anna and Gabriella Roman, of Coplay; Jim Colombo and Sue Fisher, of Whitehall; and Lisa Ligi, of North Whitehall, worked together to offer a full menu of food from the church kitchen. Ann Reeder, of Whitehall, organized and ran the baked goods area.

The menu included breakfast sandwiches, burgers, sausage sandwiches, hamburger barbecue, hot dogs and haluski. A nice selection of baked goods, coffee, tea, water and soda were also available.

Brenda Litrenta, of Schnecksville, was an early-bird shopper at the community yard sale. She said she was thrilled at the size and selection of items available to purchase. These included Christmas and Halloween decor, household items and some interesting, unique pieces.

Val Gross, of Northampton, was selling exquisite, attractive bottles with frosted glitter and lights as well as other items. She can be reached at her shop, ChipNails, at 419 E. 21st St., Northampton, or by calling 610-439-3416 for information about her products.

The third annual sale was so successful, leaving little doubt there will be a fourth annual sale in 2026.

The church’s next event is a pork takeout dinner, with or without sauerkraut, Oct. 25.

The church’s social hall is available for rentals for baby showers, birthday parties, wedding receptions or other special events. Email saintste@ptd.net for more information.
