North Catasauqua: Thrift shop sale continues
Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., continues its half-price sale through Sept. 27. There will also be a bag sale on everything in the shop from Sept. 29 to Oct. 11.
The shop will be closed Oct. 13-15 for cleaning and the seasonal changeover of clothing. The shop will reopen with all new clothing Oct. 16.
The regular store hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Holy Trinity is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Oct. 11. The seating times are 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The menu consists of spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, bread and butter, beverages and desserts. The cost is by donation.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church is running a bus trip to the National Centre for Padre Pio Oct. 13 for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to venerate the full habit of St. Pio, directly from Italy, which will be in the United States for the first time ever.
The bus will leave St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 1239 Third St., promptly 8 a.m. The group will depart 2 p.m.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua will hold its next free community lunch 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the church.
The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry. The pantry is set up to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is currently accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc. Collection bins are located at the church entrances.

The 2025 North Catasauqua/Catasauqua Halloween parade will take place 7 p.m. Oct. 22. To highlight both borough parks and to enable traffic to flow smoother, this year will feature a new parade route.
The rain date for the parade is Oct. 29.

North Catasauqua Police Association will be hosting its annual free veterans breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Masonic Lodge, 1103 Sixth St. There will be an opening ceremony, which includes the playing of the national anthem and invocation.

Limited seats are available, so only the first 35 veterans who register will be permitted to attend. You may bring a guest, but they must be registered.

Reminder: Due to a bee hive, the front entrance to St. John Fisher Catholic Church will be closed until further notice. Use the parking lot doors to enter and exit the church.
The Third Street entrance will only be an emergency exit until the bee problem is resolved. The church will keep everyone updated if there are any changes.

Catasauqua Area Food Bank, 527 Front St., is accepting donations of pasta, cereal, soup, rice, stuffing, instant potatoes, granola bars and peanut butter crackers. Donations may be dropped off during open hours: 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Be advised that there has been a revision to the borough trash ordinance that was recently approved by borough council. Residents are not allowed to put out their trash receptacles more than 24 hours before scheduled pick up.. Also, residents must remove their trash receptacles no later than 24 hours after pick up.
