Egypt/Cementon: Lion’s Club annual sweepstakes fundraiser happening now
Whitehall Lions Club’s annual sweepstakes drawing fundraiser is underway. The drawing will be held Oct. 20, and winners’ names will be published on the club’s website, whitehall-lions.org.
Prizes of $500 for first place, $400 second place, $300 third place, $200 fourth place and $100 fifth place will be awarded.
All funds raised are returned to the community through the club’s service projects.

Learn to line dance 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 with Whiskey Way Line Dancing at the VFW. All levels of dancers are welcome.
These classes are open to the public. There is a cover charge.

The menu includes scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, sausage, bacon, sausage gravy over toast, pancakes, pumpkin pancakes and French toast. Beverages such as milk, orange juice, cranberry juice, coffee, tea and mimosas will be available.

Gift cards will be ready for pickup by Dec. 14.

Whitehall Fire Department’s annual Haunted Hayride in the Parkway begins 7-11 p.m. the weekend of Oct. 3 and 4 and continues each weekend through Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. There is a cost.
All proceeds benefit Whitehall Fire Department.

A volunteer/membership appreciation event will also take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at the park. Those who have volunteered at the park or are members during 2025 are invited to stop by for a free hot dog and beverage.
Membership registration will be available that day at the park.

Stay for the Halloween car show 2-8 p.m. and trunk or treat 5-7 p.m. Food trucks, music, a costume contest and carnival games will be part of the event.

Haunted Parkway Trick or Treat is set for 2-5 p.m. Oct. 11 at Whitehall Parkway. Fun family activities include face painting, music, food, a basket raffle and mini cows.
Kids in costume are admitted free. There is a cost for adults.
