Richard S. Daniel, 72, of Whitehall, died Sept. 2, 2025. He was the husband of Jacquelyn M. “Jackie” Daniel for 37 years. Born in Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Harry V. and Pauline G. (Sesulka) Daniel.

He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whitehall.

He was with the PB&NE Railroad at Bethlehem Steel Corp. and retired as a railroad engineer for Norfolk Southern. He was the former Treasurer of the United Transportation Union.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Amy L. Schroeder with husband Michael; sons David J. Penchishen with wife Sherri and Eric J. Penchishen with wife Cindy; grandchildren Cody J., Stephen D. and Dylan J. Penchishen, Skylar D. and Haley M. Schroeder; great-grandson Leeland J. Penchishen. He was predeceased by a brother, Jackie Daniel.
