St. Luke’s University Health Network presenting community meetings

St. Luke’s University Health Network recently completed its triennial Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and will present the findings in a series of public presentations.

Community members are encouraged to attend the sessions and participate in discussions.

As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, nonprofit hospitals are required to conduct a CHNA every three years to maintain tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The goal of the assessment is to identify critical health disparities faced by populations in the St. Luke’s service areas.

The assessments reflect health priorities identified by community stakeholders, hospital professionals and public health experts.

Additionally, regional implementation plans are developed to build collaborative partnerships that support the allocation of resources to address the specified health needs.

“We thank our communities who have been a part of our Community Health Needs Assessment process since 2013,” said Rajika Reed, Ph.D., MPH, M.Ed., St. Luke’s Vice President of Community Health.

“We are pleased that we had over 15,000 respondents complete our survey, so your voices were heard. This provided valuable data that we are looking forward to sharing with you. Please join us to learn more about our communities,” Reed said.

St. Luke’s will present CHNA community meetings at the following dates and times. The events are free. Registration is required.
