Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Fourth and Pine streets, Catasauqua, continued its active efforts to assist other nonprofit organizations with a “Golden Girls” murder mystery dinner Sept. 13. The church, under the leadership of Pastor Brian Riedy, has demonstrated a calling and action to help the Catasauqua community and beyond.
Morning Glories church group member Diane Lindeman, of Whitehall, said the hall was filled with attendees for the event, the proceeds of which benefit Lehigh Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The Morning Glories is a women’s group with a self-described focus on the spiritual service to others.
The event’s theme was based on the popular television sitcom “Golden Girls,” which ran from 1985 to 1992 and is now viewed as television reruns. The show featured actors portraying the Golden Girls — Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche and Rose. At this show, they had a guest, Chris.
It was easy to tell attendees thought the performance was entertaining; many had a goal of figuring out how the plot would proceed. The antics of the actors were appreciated particularly by the seasoned audience, many of whom watched the sitcom on television.
Kitchen staff, among them Liz Burda and Dominique V. Da Luz, prepared the country- style dinner, which captivated guests’ senses as much as the performance.
The performance was produced by Without A Cue Productions of Bensalem, which is an arts and entertainment organization created in 2009. Visit its Facebook page or visit withoutacue.com to learn more about its productions and events.
