Bath: Come out to Old Home Weekend Sept. 18-21 in Bath Borough

Bath Borough will be holding its Old Home Weekend Sept. 18-21. The schedule includes the following.

• Sept. 18: Businesses will be open late, and there will be fire department and water authority tours 6-8 p.m.

• Sept. 19: Magician Tom Yurasits will perform 6 p.m., and there will be a free outdoor movie — “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” — starting 8 p.m. at Ciff Cowling Field. The concession stand will be open, and there will be peach cobbler.

• Sept. 20: The community picnic and annual softball tournament will begin 10 a.m. at Ciff Cowling Field, with a rain date of Sept. 27. The Bath Museum’s 25th anniversary event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the museum, featuring the three-episode premiere of “Follow That Rail” documentary of Benders Junction to Bath, Bath to Martins Creek and Bath to Catasauqua. Then, Brian Dean Moore will perform 6-9 p.m. at Ciff Cowling Field. The concession stand will be open and adult beverages available.

• Sept. 21: A meet and greet with borough community organizations will take place 5 p.m., there will be an Elvis impersonator 5-6 p.m., and the Large Flowerheads will be performing 7-9 p.m. These three events will take place at Ciff Cowling Field. Wine, beer and spirits will be provided by Homecoming Winery. Free haircuts will be offered by All Star Cuts of Bath, and “tinsel hair” will be done 5-9 p.m.

Free parking will be available at George Wolf Elementary School, St. John’s Church and Ahart’s Market for all events.

The Bath Museum, 121 S. Walnut St., Bath, will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, East Allen Township, will be open 1-3 p.m. Sept. 20 for tours of the historic buildings, grounds and new museum.

Petersville Rod and Gun Club, 550 Club Road, will be having a bike night Sept. 20, starting 5 p.m., under the pavilion. There will be food and drinks, corn hole, horseshoes and a fire pit.

During the month of September, Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will help Bath Area Food Bank by collecting canned tuna or chicken. Donations for the food bank can be dropped off in the bins in the fellowship hall or the upstairs gathering area.

Bath Area Food Bank is always in need of monetary donations and gift cards (preferably Ahart’s), which stretch farther than any amount of food we can give.

Borough firefighters are sponsoring the annual Halloween parade Oct. 21, starting 7 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 22.

The parade will start at Broad and Main streets and end at Route 987 and Barrall Avenue.
