Fire company holds Firetrucks, Frisbees disc golf tournament

The Neffs Volunteer Fire Company held its second annual Firetrucks and Frisbees disc golf tournament at Neffs Valley Park, 3545 Neffs Laurys Road, Schnecksville Sept. 6.

Disc golf players enjoyed a fun day guiding their “Frisbees” into baskets from as close as 25 feet to more than 50 yards away from the start.

Groups of three, four or five participants would start at a designated point on the 18-hole course, with each person choosing the proper disc for the distance, just as a golfer would choose a proper club for a specific distance.

Individual disc prices can range from $9 to as high as $50.

The program began in 2024 to help bolster the volunteer fire department’s various programs needed to protect the residents of North Whitehall Township.

Along with Neffs, Laurys Station Fire Company, Schnecksville Community Fire Co. No. 1 and Tri-Clover Fire Company, Orefield, provide fire and rescue services to North Whitehall Township.
